Ignite!

The concepts and value of Ignite lie on these beautiful words of the Catechism bequeathing a special ministry to the laity in the church:

“Lay people also fulfill their prophetic mission by evangelization, “that is, the proclamation of Christ by word and the testimony of life.” For lay people, “this evangelization . . . acquires a specific property and peculiar efficacy because it is accomplished in the ordinary circumstances of the world. This witness of life, however, is not the sole element in the apostolate; the true apostle is on the lookout for occasions of announcing Christ by word, either to unbelievers . . . or to the faithful.” (Catechism of the Catholic Church, n 905)

Once a month we gather to pray, praise, worship and share at Ignite.  Ignite is a program intended to help us grow more passionate about our faith.  It is designed to stir the fire of passion for our faith resulting in living Catholic faith that spreads the good news and transform the world.  Furthermore, Ignite is to inspire a strong sense of community and stewardship within our parish.

What to expect?

Ignite! typically begins with a simple dinner beginning at 6:15 p.m. in the Social Hall, followed by the Ignite! Program at 7:30 p.m. in the Main Sanctuary.

We have music, worship, prayer, scriptures, stories of faith and companionship.  There is coffee / desserts / socializing following the program. A love offering is suggested for the meal; attendees are encouraged to bring desserts/snacks to share following the program.

Everyone is invited to IGNITE! whether you belong to St. Thomas parish or not, whether you are Catholic or not, from the youngest to the senior most… please join us!
